WGAN-TV NCTech iStar Pulsar at 2018 Google Street View Summit

Today is Friday, June 1, 2018, and I'm at the 2018Google Street View Summit in San Francisco, and joining me is Neil with NCTech, and you're the co-founder.
– Co-founder, yeah.
– And you were on stage yesterday at Google, and you made a very exciting announcement.
– Yep, we announced the newiSTAR Pulsar camera system.
We don't refer to itactually, in any of our data as a camera, we refer toit as a big data system because it's connected from edge-to-cloud, it has a full cloud back-end processing.
So it's not like a traditional camera, where you're going to have some imagery that you can work withon your own computer.
It creates so much data, you really need back-end cloud data infrastructure there.
– So, this data capture camera, both together, is really awesome.

I am super-excited aboutthis NCTech iSTAR Pulsar.
And so, Neil, how do we make money? – Well the camera itself, there's a launch price, $2, 995 for Google StreetView certified photographers.
– So this is $3, 000 U.

, if you're a Google certified Street View photographer.
– Yep.
– So it's like nothing.
– Correct.
And on our website, there'ssome details there also, about some of our previous customers who have our Iris 360 Camera, there's some information about those users there, ifyou had an Iris 360 Camera, you can look at our website, there's some offers there for you guys, where we wantto reward you for you know, if this is another productthat you're looking at.
So, how you would makemoney with this camera, it's really a simple case of, we tried to take the workflow of creating huge volumes of dataand making it as simple as just clicking an app button, and then you don't haveto worry about the camera, you don't have to callyourself a photographer even.
We have this term that we're using which is called a Virtualizer, where we're asking everyoneto virtualize their world.
– Okay, so you're a Virtualize Pro, and let's take a use caseof Google Street View.
There's 80 different capture devices that publish to Google Street View.
Why would I want this device? What kind of jobs is itthat this is ideal for? – So really, it's just likeany of the current services that Trusted photographers already do, where they're potentially, they have a client who wants an indoor space captured, this camera is similar in that sense, where you have a client who may want an outdoor space captured, so it could be a university, it could be an oil rig, it could be any location on the planet faithfully, whether it's vehicle mounted on a vehicle like a car, or you can mount this on a Tracker, or on— So a Tracker would be, I go put the camera in abackpack and it would sit right above my head, and thenI could go walk the space.
– Yeah, and there's no extra hardware.
This is the entire product here.
You do not need a computer, there is no computer.
All you need is your phone to use our app.
– Use your phone to run the iSTAR Pulse, the NCTech iSTAR Pulsar, and then you just need to be close to a high speed WiFi— Well, that's right.
So when you're out capturing, you don't need anything other than the camera and adevice to control the camera.
So you can trek in the Grand Canyon, you can be on MountEverest, it doesn't know it no matter where you are, and we have an external battery pack, so— I know it's exciting to go up Mount Everest, but I know our We Get Around NetworkForum Community are saying, “Hey, you're asking me for $3, 000, “the backpack probablycosts some extra money, “the car mount probablyadds some extra money”, so I'm willing to say to buy this, but help me understandwhat can I do today? I think, .

here we are at Google Street View Summit is to say if you have 100, 000 square feet, and it's inside and outside, this is the kind of capturecamera that's going to make a capture easy, fast, and simple.
– Yeah, absolutely.
It's thehighest resolution camera on the market today, soyour data's going to be the best data out there, it's comparable with Google's own Street View cars, that kind of resolution, and the information that's in that data is going to be fantastic for the clients that your Pro photographeris doing that capture for.
So when they upload that information, whether it's an indoor shopping mall, or it is a park, or ahighway, or a road network for a government, for example.
Say it was a city planner, where you're going to tour the entire city, this product captures so much data so fast, it's not just a product for capturing a single property or street.
You can do an entirecity with this product.
With one camera, you cando an entire country.
– So maybe you live atthe beach, or you live in a historic district, maybe you live someplace where the Google Street View photography either doesn't exist, or is dated, so this is an opportunity to map, not only the streets that have current Street View photography, but also to be able to go inside of businesses, and as I understand it, this NCTech iSTAR Pulsar can capture seven frames a second, andthat means that you can either walk the space, or thatyou could be driving 60 miles an hour, andit's going to capture, there's some magic thereof how it does its captures so that you can do large spaces.
So if you're a We Get Around Network Forum Community Member and you'retrying to think about, okay, I've heard aboutthis NCTech iSTAR Pulsar, and I've told you thatit's super exciting, and so you're researching it, so in addition to maybe being, in fact, one of our [WGAN]Members reached out to us, they're in Aruba, andthe challenge in Aruba is there's no Google StreetView photography at all.
And so, why don't youpick it up from there, of how does that magicallyend up on Google? – So the way that the platform works, as I say you capture, youdon't need any devices.
Once you've captured, you bring the product back to a location thathas a WiFi connection, the camera will connect to that WiFi, and then the camera willdirectly push that data up to NCTech's VR World servers, so this is a new platform that we've announced, VR.

– Okay, VR.
World is anew platform from NCTech, and I presume it's anopen platform as well.
So it's not even just NCTechdevices, we need a platform for hosting— We're hardware agnostic with that platform.
– So if I get into VR.

– Yep.
– VR.
World, then I hit a button, and I publish to Google Street View? – Well it's even easier than that.
You don't need to go to the website, you don't even need to go there.
That is there, and we'returning that website live very soon, before this launch, this camera is going in through avery secure connection to that platform, so whenyou take the product back, and it's connected to the WiFi, there's a switch on herewhere you can literally, there's a little switch just here.
By pushing that switch, thatcamera will automatically start transmitting your wholecapture that's on the device.
It's a solid state-hard disk internally.
All that information willbe pushed out to the Cloud and then it'll be processed, and then it'll let you review the informationonce it's processed.
You can see it on a preview video.
You'll be able to lookthrough your routes.
The routes could be long, and they could be very large.
So the best way to do this is a video.
So you look through the video, you can then trim the video to make sure that you remove anythingthat you don't want as part of it and the like, and then you can publish.
And when you hit publish, it's publishing from Cloud-to-Cloud, from our Cloud straight to Google– – Instant? That's crazy, so once it'sin the VR.
World Cloud, and you're ready to publishto Google Street View, it just goes Cloud-to-Cloud.
– It's literally hours and it's going through Google– – So for our We Get AroundNetwork Forum Member who's in Aruba, does heneed to talk to Google to say “Hey, there is noGoogle Street View photography.
“What do I need to do in order to publish “to Google Street View, or is it simply “as long as I use the NCTech iSTAR Pulsar, “upload it to the VR.
World, and then hit the button “to say approve, it'll now immediately “go to Google Street View, and”.

– And publishing to Google.
If there is an issue with anynew un-routed territories, obviously contact us andwe will help and assist, and make sure that that gets published.
And we work very closely with Google so we'll be able to workour way through that.
But I'm sure it'll bea case of just publish, and the route will appear.
– Okay, so we're talking about a device that was developed in conjunction with Google, so presumably, the deep integration is— There's been a collaborative effort tomake sure the work flow is very seamless.
This product has beena two year development, funded and developed by NCTech.
We've had a lot of systems with Intel– This is a lot of .
.
.
Intel technology thatwe've leveraged and taken– We worked closely withSony on the sensors.
And we've had to developnew driver technologies with these companies tomake this product possible.
So it's a collaborativeeffort with Sony, Intel and Google to get to where we are.
– So let me see if I can justcall a couple highlights.
So if you're already a GoogleStreet View photographer, and you want to kick it up on Steroids to do super-large spaces, indoors, outdoors, this lets you go indoors, outdoors, large spaces, capturing a huge amount of data, and make it super-easyto upload and publish to Google Street View.
And so if you've ever, we as photographers, we think about workflow all the time, and how sometimes we getbogged down in workflow, I want to say you gavea lot of thought to that and said, “How do we cut out all the steps “in the workflow to justmake it easy to publish”.
Neil, so NCTech iSTAR Pulsar, you announced this onstage here at the 2018 Google Street View Summithere in San Francisco.
When can I start placingan order for this? – You can place pre-orders now, as from yesterday, on there, there's no money taking, it's just a case of itadds you to the queue.
We have stocked these cameras today.
We plan on shipping in mid June, so June 15th is the day that we– – Okay, that's June 15, 2018.
– So place your pre-order.
When we are ready to ship your product, we'll contact you and say “Okay, “it's time to transfer the funds”.
At that point, your shipmentgoes straight to you.
So we have stocked, it'snot something that we say, “It's two months, threemonths, four months”.
You have these cameras, we've been collecting.
It's been years in development.
We've held off, we didn'tbring out our Iris PRO camera because we knew this product was coming and we didn't have a product, and then for those customers to say “Oh, well we justbought something else”.
So we just made the decision, it was a hard decision to make, we invested alot of time and effort in Iris PRO, but we feltit was the right move to just stop that product, and to focus on this.
And I think this'll be theright product for everybody.
– Yeah, so this is super-exciting.
I've looked at a lot of cameras, I've looked at a lot of data collectors, I've looked at a lot of data collectors that are also cameras, I am super-excited about the NCTech iSTAR Pulsar.

I saw the NCTech team present at the 2017 Google Street View Summitin Tokyo, in May of 2017, when they first talked about the camera.
