[Music] hi guys and welcome back to new Jam's I'm Haley and here's what's going on in the world today first up we're all getting used to life in lockdown and we've

been hearing lows about how you guys have been coping but what about our animals well zoos across

the UK have told newshound they're really struggling to cover the costs and keep the animals fed and healthy so what are they doing to raise the funds and are the animals getting on okay well Shaniqua has been taking a look lots of businesses and organizations have had to

close because of the coronavirus they want to try it and stop the spread of it but that means no paying visitors and less money to keep them going that's extra hard for places like zoos they rely on money from tickets to feed animals and to pay zoo keepers

to look after them zoos across the UK and told Newsround they've lost over 90 percent of income during the lockdown this is tricky because they've got a lot of mouths to feed at edinburgh zoo their food bill alone is fifty five thousand pounds they've got lots of specialist

diets to cater for including the pandas who eat anywhere between 20 and 40 pounds of bamboo a day the welsh mountain zoo so they'll have spent all their money by the end of summer if they don't get any extra help but zookeepers are trying hard to make sure

that animals are still looked after at London Zoo keepers are even staying overnight to make sure that animals are okay is a very opportunity start to be able to give lots more training to the animals lots more enrichment change up their enclosures it's been a bit more personal

time the animals in wait until you go back to normal and to raise money lots of zoos have made GoFundMe pages to keep the animals fed and healthy people can still pay a visit from home lots of zoos have set up virtual visits and have posted animal updates

on their social media the animals and the keepers seem happy enough for now and zoos are hoping people will continue to try and help [Music] now there's been a lot of talk about lockdown haircuts but is your dog also in need of a trip to the groomers well

while the pet salons are closed we thought we would ask the professionals Tommy Riley live and work together so we asked them to show us some pooch pampering tips I'd use round my name's Riley and we are professional dog groomers top tip number one get your dog in

the bath the things you need first one is a good quality dog shampoo don't use human shampoo it's not good for the skin and make sure that the water is nice and warm not too hot you don't want to scold the dog when you scrub in the dogs

you don't have to worry about it and then the dogs quite like being manhandled a little bit obviously if you've got quite a small dog be a bit more gentle with them there we go good boy badger good boy OOP try not to leave any soap in there

because it can make it greasy and it can make the skin sore so make sure the coke is literally squeaky clean right now budgets all rinse clean and nice – squeaky clean it's time to dry and make sure that you've got a nice clean dry towel ready once

you've got your towel make sure to wrap your dog with nice and tightly and just get them squeezed try not to rub them as much because all the friction pad car's not sitting especially the longer hair dogs on the walk go breathe good tip for you if you've

dumped runs away and doesn't like the hairdryer put them on somewhere raised which is secure like a dining room table or kitchen counter or make sure you've got someone holding to the junction puffing image of themselves now batch is all dry we're now going to show you the

correct technique and the correct tools and how to brush your dog so once you've got your brush and your comb just step slowly gently brush a minute where it's all clearly getting all those knocked out and once you get all that coat line straighten generally in the same

direction you can go through with your comb and that just gets it right down to the skin and make sure this little there's no knots in there the most important top tip of all don't use scissors or as on your dogs leave it for the trained professional like

ourselves pampering thanks guys he looks so very smart well that's it from us but we are back at 4 o'clock later today have fun and head to new chance online to send us your questions for the new Jamie Johnson cat cast which starts this week and to check

out loads more including what we know about the latest Star Wars film I'll see you then you
